This trip starts and finishes in Lima. On day one of your tour, please arrive in Lima and check into your joining hotel before your welcome meeting in the evening (usually between 5 pm and 7 pm).

We believe single travellers should not have to pay more to travel so our group trips are designed for shared accommodation and do not involve a single supplement. Single travellers joining group trips are paired in twin or multi-share accommodation with someone of the same sex for the duration of the trip.

This tour is designed for budget-conscious travellers aged between 18 and 35 with a maximum of 24 travellers per group (average group size of 16 people). It is an immersive, social, wallet-friendly adventure where epic hostels are your home base.

Transport throughout the tour will be affordable public and private transport, and there are lots of optional activities so you can tailor your trip to your budget. This tour also features some light walking and hiking (nothing too challenging) suitable for most fitness levels.

All countries require a valid passport (with a minimum of 6 months validity).

Contact your local embassy or consulate for the most up-to-date visa requirements, or see your travel agent.

It is your own responsibility to have the correct travel documentation. Visa requirements for your trip will vary depending on where you are from and where you are going.

Yes, travel insurance is compulsory on this trip.

Every traveller is different and therefore spending money requirements will vary. Some travellers may drink more than others while others like to purchase more souvenirs than most. Please consider your own spending habits when it comes to allowing for drinks, shopping, and tipping.

When it comes to food, we recommend budgeting around 165-220 AUD for any meals not included in the tour price.

We recommend packing the following items:

Documents:

We would highly recommend bringing no more than 15kg on this trip.

We also recommend bringing a backpack or a medium-sized suitcase instead of a suitcase if you can. You won’t need to carry your luggage around during daily excursions, but you will need to transport your luggage between each accommodation so we recommend packing as lightly as possible.

A daypack is also essential for carrying everyday items. Space is limited on transportation, so there is a limit of one main piece of luggage per person. You will be responsible for carrying your own luggage.

Accommodation will be primarily in multi-share hostels (typically 6-8 people per room), with a choice of mixed-gender and female-only dorms as well as available upgrades to twin-share rooms (same gender).

Some rooming exceptions may apply due to the unique nature of the itineraries and of the hostels themselves, which have been specifically chosen to give local flavour to your trip.

Please note that hot water shortages and power outages can be fairly common in Peru (even in upgraded hotels and private homes). We appreciate your patience and understanding that these occurrences are outside of our control.

If you have an existing medical condition or disability that may affect your trip or how the Tour Operator delivers your experience, they ask that you inform them in writing at the time of your booking. You may be asked to obtain a medical certificate, and if they reasonably feel they are unable to accommodate your particular needs, they reserve the right to decline your booking.

While travelling on this tour, you'll experience a vast array of wonderful food. Your group leader will be able to suggest restaurants to try during your trip. To give you maximum flexibility in deciding where, what and with whom to eat, only some meals are included in this tour price.

This also gives you more budgeting flexibility. As a rule, groups tend to eat together to enable you to taste a larger variety of dishes and enjoy each other's company. If you have dietary requirements and/or food allergies, please let the Tour Operator know at the time of booking or prior to departure.

People with seafood or shellfish allergies should note that there are a lot of seafood-based dishes served in the places we visit on this tour, including at your Foodie Moment (seafood lunch at the beach) on day two of the trip.
